The First Floor: Porch, Entry and Powder Room

Let's begin our tour at the front of the house! The porch is one of the best features of the house!



It is a great place for big parties or...


a quiet cup of coffee and a book!



Come on in the front door...


and you will be in the entry way. It has its original woodwork that is in excellent condition. The stairs on the left side (with the carpet) lead upstairs or to the butler's pantry. The stairs on the right will bring you to the basement.


The hallway on the left side of the hall tree leads around the corner...


to the powder room. It has original 1920's subway tile on the walls, as well as the original tile on the floor. The little white door on the right side is access to a good sized under stairs storage area.


This is the view from the entryway into the living room which is where we are headed next on our tour!

The First Floor: Living Room, Dining Room, Sunporch

The living room features beautiful woodwork and a gorgeous wood burning fireplace with a black marble surround. It also has the original french doors which lead out into the sun porch.






The living room and the dining room have unique crown molding and exquisite matching crystal chandeliers that are original to the home.

The dining room is large in size and has the original wood floors.


It also has french doors that lead out into the sun porch.

The sun porch is bright and spacious! As previously mentioned, it has french doors which lead back into the dining room on the left and living room on the right. It also has the wide crown molding, a ceiling fan and a terracotta tile floor that matches the tile floor on the front porch.



The sun porch is on the south side of the home. It has a nice view of the backyard and it also has a door that leads to the front porch.

The First Floor: Kitchen and Butler's Pantry

The kitchen is bright and cheerful!


It definitely has vintage charm!

It is also big enough to be an "eat in" kitchen!


The wall of windows provides a nice view of the north lawn while you are washing dishes!



Around the corner from the kitchen is the butler's pantry. It features stainless steel counter tops.

There are beautiful, original cabinets with glass fronts and no shortage of storage here!

The laundry is conveniently located here at the bottom of the back stairs to the second floor!

There is also a little utility sink for washing kid's hands or removing stains from the laundry!

The butler's pantry still has its original light fixtures, as well!

The First Floor: Office, Elevator and Back Porch

Next on the tour is the office. It is accessed through the kitchen. Through the door that is partially open (by the entrance to the kitchen in the photo) is one of the most unique parts of the home.


It's the elevator! It goes from the first floor to the second floor. It was installed by the original owner in the late 50's or early 60's and is still working like a charm!


The office is a nice sized room with two outside entrance doors. One door leads out to the driveway and the other door leads out to the back porch and back yard.


There is also built in bookshelves and storage!


On the way to the back yard from the office, you see the back porch. It features terracotta tiles and stone walls!


It also provided the perfect sized space for a hot tub! It is a private little area of relaxation!
